Solar Corona and Face of the Moon

On Monday night, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totality that stretches from central Oregon through South Carolina will be able to see one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse. This is when the moon completely covers the sun for a very short time and allows you to look right at thesun, revealing the beautiful corona that surrounds the sun. Stars come out, the horizon glows with a 360-degree sunset, the temperature drops, and day turns into night. It's one of the most beautiful things you can ever see on earth. If you are out to watch the eclipse, be sure to wear special ‘eclipse glasses’ to protect your eyes
